The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10. God is the source of all wisdom. He reveals wisdom through the words of the Bible. He also speaks wisdom through His people. Here are a few quotes I have found to be wise and thought provoking:
“A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” (Charles Spurgeon)
“Kindness is sharing your strength, rather than reminding someone of their weakness.” (Unknown)
“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” (Corrie Ten Boom)
“Meditate on a virtue without practicing it, and you will mislead yourself into believing that you have actually become someone you are not . . .” (Francis De Sales)
“God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer.” (Mother Teresa)
“Learn to see God in the details of your life, for He is everywhere.” (Francis de Sales)
“I can’t go back and change the beginning, but I can start where I am and change the ending.”
(C. S. Lewis)
“The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will care for you tomorrow and every day. Either he will shield you from suffering or give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace then and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginings.” (Francis de Sales)
“If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” (Mother Teresa)
“I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.” (Helen Keller)
“A day that is hemmed in with prayer is less likely to unravel.” (Unknown)
“The path to true happiness lies in obedience to God’s will.” (William Law)
“Because truth is unpopular does not mean that it should not be proclaimed.” (Billy Graham)
“If you have not chosen the Kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead.” (William Law)
For wisdom is more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it. Proverbs 8:11
